It's anti-reflective, not matte. A 7-layer Tora-Coating removes reflections while staying clear and colorful — matte films frost the screen and dull color; this doesn't.

What does < 0.8% reflectivity mean?

It's how much light the surface mirrors back. Ordinary glass reflects around 4.5% and mirrors your screen in the sun; under 0.8% it stays clear and readable outdoors.

How is the Shield different from the Case-Friendly version?

Clear screen with less glare
I was looking for a protector that would keep the screen clear without adding extra glare, and this one has been excellent on my iPhone 17 Pro. Easy install and clean finish

Much better outdoors
Outdoor visibility is much better than I expected. I can still see the screen clearly in bright conditions without constantly changing the angle of the phone. The protector fits well on my iPhone 17 Pro and feels sturdy enough for daily use.
