Every question about TORRAS Glass, answered.

From installation to warranty, 9H+ technology to free shipping — find your answer below.

What's inside TORRAS Glass

9H+ hardness, aerospace glass, and the science behind our three product series.

What does 9H+ hardness actually mean?

The Mohs hardness scale runs from 1 (talc) to 10 (diamond). A 9H rating means the glass resists scratching from any material rated below 9H on that scale — that covers steel keys (6–7H), sand particles, coins, and virtually every everyday object.

TORRAS uses aerospace-grade glass rated at 9H+, verified through 25,000+ scratch tests with zero scratches recorded. For reference: your fingernails are ~2.5H; the most common keys are ~6H — your screen protector outranks them all.

What is "aerospace tempered glass" — is it actually different from regular tempered glass?

Yes — meaningfully so. Aerospace glass refers to a 4-layer dense molecular structure composition originally developed for cockpit displays and satellite optics. Compared to standard consumer tempered glass, it has higher internal compression stress across the entire surface, which distributes impact energy more evenly instead of concentrating it at a fracture point.

TORRAS's aerospace glass passed 8,000+ drop tests (zero cracks) and a 325 lb static stress test without breaking — benchmarks that standard consumer glass cannot match.

Will the screen protector affect my display's clarity, brightness, or color?

No. TORRAS glass screen protectors are optically transparent at 99%+ light transmittance — no shift in color temperature, no perceptible reduction in brightness. The optical glass composition is the same class as premium camera lens glass.

Interestingly, many users report that their display looks cleaner after installing, because the glass acts as a smudge-resistant barrier — so you're seeing the screen through clean glass rather than through fingerprint oils on the raw OLED/LCD surface.

My screen protector cracked. Did it fail, or did it work as intended?

It worked exactly as designed. Screen protectors are engineered as sacrificial layers — they're specifically built to crack instead of your phone's display. When a protector absorbs an impact, cracks, and your $1,000+ phone screen survives intact, that's a successful outcome.

You should replace a cracked protector promptly: a cracked protector offers less protection against subsequent drops, and edge fragments can cause minor abrasions.

How long does a TORRAS screen protector last?

TORRAS is rated for 5 years of durability under normal use. In practice, lifespan depends on your habits:

  • Light users (desk-based, minimal drops) — often 2+ years before any visible wear
  • Average users — 12–24 months of solid performance
  • Heavy/active users (construction, outdoors, frequent drops) — 6–18 months

Replace your protector if it has deep scratches affecting visibility, or if it's cracked from an impact. That's what the 2-pack backup is for.

Will the screen protector fit my phone & case?

Model fit, Face ID, fingerprint sensors, stylus support, and case compatibility.

How do I know which screen protector fits my phone model?

Every TORRAS screen protector is precision-cut for a specific device model — there is no universal fit. On glass.torraslife.com, use the model selector on any product page to filter to your exact device.

If you're unsure which iPhone you have: go to Settings → General → About → Model Name. This shows the exact model (e.g., "iPhone 16 Pro" vs. "iPhone 16 Pro Max") — these are different sizes and need different protectors.

Will it work with my phone case?

Yes — all TORRAS glass screen protectors feature a case-friendly design with a 0.2–0.4mm inset from the screen edge, giving standard cases room to sit flush without lifting the protector's edges. This includes slim cases, leather wallets, and MagSafe-compatible cases.

Very thick rugged cases with deep raised bezels (some OtterBox Defender variants, for example) may create slight edge pressure over time. If you use an ultra-rugged case, check the product page's compatibility notes.

Will it interfere with Face ID?

No. Face ID uses the TrueDepth camera system in the notch or Dynamic Island —not the display glass. TORRAS protectors have precision cutouts that don't cover the TrueDepth sensor array. Face ID will perform exactly as before installation, at full speed and accuracy.

One-pull system, bubbles & more

Step-by-step install guidance, troubleshooting bubbles, dust, and alignment issues.

How do I install my TORRAS screen protector?

TORRAS uses a One-Pull installation system — designed to be bubble-free, dust-free, and perfectly aligned without the frustration of traditional self-apply protectors.

  1. Clean: Wipe your screen with the included alcohol wipe, then buff dry with the microfiber cloth.
  2. Dust-lift: Press the dust removal sticker across your screen to lift any remaining particles.
  3. Tray position: Place the alignment tray over your phone — it auto-locks to your device model's dimensions.
  4. One pull: Peel back the pull tab in one smooth, steady motion. The glass self-positions and self-adheres.
  5. Press: Press the center outward lightly to seat the adhesive. Done — under 60 seconds.

What's included in the box?

Every TORRAS Glass package includes everything you need for a perfect install — no extra purchases necessary:

  • Screen protector glass (1-pack or 2-pack)
  • Alignment installation tray
  • Alcohol prep wipe
  • Microfiber polishing cloth
  • Dust removal sticker
  • Quick-start installation guide

I got bubbles after installing. What do I do?

Small edge bubbles from fresh adhesive usually disappear within 24–48 hours as the silicone bonds fully to the glass. Wait a day before troubleshooting.

For bubbles that persist after 48 hours:

  • Air bubble (clear): Use a soft card — like a credit card wrapped in the microfiber cloth — to gently push toward the nearest edge.
  • Dust bubble (white dot): Carefully lift the edge with a tape strip, use the dust sticker to remove the particle, then re-lay. The adhesive is repositionable.

What if I misalign the protector during installation?

The One-Pull alignment tray is specifically designed to prevent misalignment — once the tray is seated correctly, the glass lands in the precise position automatically. Most users get a perfect install on the first try.

If you do misalign: TORRAS's silicone adhesive is fully repositionable for the first 60–90 seconds after application. Gently lift from one corner, reposition, and press down again. After ~15 minutes of curing, repositioning becomes much harder and risks trapping air.

Can I remove and reapply the screen protector?

Yes, once, with care. If you need to remove it — for example, to clean trapped dust — lift from one corner slowly at a very low angle (10–15°) to avoid stressing the glass.

After removal, the adhesive may pick up lint. Use the dust removal sticker to clean the adhesive surface before reapplying. Adhesive quality degrades after one removal cycle, so treat reapplication as a temporary fix — plan on replacing the protector soon. That's why the 2-pack backup is there.

Drop protection, cracks & phone warranties

How screen protectors actually protect your device — and their limits.

My phone screen cracked even with the protector on. Why?

This typically happens when the impact force exceeds the protector's rated threshold, or — more commonly — when the phone lands on a corner or edge. Corner and edge impacts bypass the flat front glass entirely, transferring force directly through the phone's frame to the display from behind. A flat screen protector can't intercept that force vector.

No screen protector at any price provides 100% protection against all drops. ForgeGuard's MIL-STD-810H certification means it passed the highest civilian drop-testing standard — but extreme angles and hard surfaces can exceed those parameters. A screen protector significantly reduces breakage risk — it doesn't eliminate it.

Can I apply a screen protector on a phone with an already-cracked screen?

Technically yes, but we don't recommend it. Glass screen protectors need a flat, smooth surface for the adhesive to bond correctly — cracks create uneven surfaces that trap air pockets and cause the protector to lift along crack lines.

More importantly, a screen protector on a cracked screen won't restore structural integrity. We recommend having your phone screen repaired first, then applying a fresh TORRAS protector to protect the repaired display going forward.

Does touch sensitivity change after applying the protector?

TORRAS glass is formulated to maintain full capacitive touch sensitivity — the glass composition transmits touch input without dampening. The vast majority of users report zero change in responsiveness.

If you're on an older Android device and notice slightly reduced sensitivity in specific screen regions, try enabling "Touch Sensitivity" mode in your phone's display settings (found on Samsung, Xiaomi, and most Android OEMs). This boosts capacitive response to compensate for any added glass layer.
